When a stage takes 3 minutes, redoing it constantly just isn't appealing. Neon Drive doesn't contain fun enough gameplay to warrant being difficult. See, my issue isn't the difficulty, but the lack of depth. The visual appeal quickly changes to annoyance, as the player is forced to play the same level over and over again, with no real changes. The quickest way to make an aesthetic get old is by forcing the player to constant replay the same chunk, seeing the exact same thing, and that fundamentally is the gameplay loop for Neon Drive. The real excitement of the game is looking around and being a tourist but it's difficult to enjoy with the level of attention the game requires. The animation can be a bit jerky at times, and the depths are weird. That being said, the gameplay is quite shallow, and often frustrating. The aesthetic is unparalleled, with a soundtrack to support it. Anyway, I got this game after some shill recommended to me this game. The difficulty range of this game is so narrow and chances are most people will not be able to beat this game unless specific conditions are met, and it just becomes unfairly difficult to too many players. Lastly, I felt the bone cartilage of my fingers were slightly arthritic while playing, and that I needed some type of supplement to improve the performance of my bone cartilage. The DPAD on the controller didn't have a spring constant enough to play this game, so I had to switch to keyboard for lower latency. Just to beat the first level I had to switch to keyboard instead of my cheap plastic Xbox controller. That being said, this game is retardedly difficult. My reflexes aren't the best in the world, but good enough to slaughter entire troops of enemies in Valorant and get headshots.
